About Us

Hibiscus City Soap Company, established in 2005, is a small, family owned and operated business located in the coastal town of Vero Beach, Florida.

We offer a variety of bath products including our handcrafted soaps. From the beginning we have been committed to only making natural soap. We try to have every ingredient we use in our soap come directly from nature. By using the best raw materials we know that we are creating a high quality product that is not only great, but also great for you.

Our soap is hand crafted in small, six pound batches allowing us to control the quality in great detail as well as cater to customers special requests. Each batch is made using the cold process method in which an acid (the plant oils), a base (sodium hydroxide), and distilled water are combined and through saponification form a salt (soap). Glycerin is a beneficial by-product of the process and remains in each and every bar. To ensure the mildest bar possible we always superfat our recipes. This allows beneficial nutrients of the plant oils to remain in the final bar.

Absolutely no animal products are used in any of our products. We only use food grade plant oils and pure essential oils. We frequently use botanicals or herbs in our recipes for their added benefits and as exfollients.

Our recipes contain a combination of the following ingredients: Coconut oil, palm oil, hemp seed oil, hazelnut oil, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, olive oil, wheat germ oil, distilled water, sodium hydroxide, essential oils, herbs, botanicals, clays, and seeds.

We know that our soap is gentle on the skin, has a rich silky lather, and that the natural glycerin and superfatting helps attract and hold moisture to your skin. The added herbs, botanicals, and essentials oils add sight and smell dimensions you can never get from commercial "soap".
